The Financial Counseling Department (FinCo) at Oncology Consultants was created in the fall of 2005 to provide financial counseling to patients and their families in an endeavor to assist in alleviating the strain that can occur when one is diagnosed with cancer.   Each patient has access to our financial counselors whose intent is to assist the medically uninsured and underinsured patients with the cost of chemotherapy treatment through various pharmaceutical assistance programs that are available.

Although, you will be expected to pay any co-payments, deductible or uncovered portions of the charges when you arrive for your office visit; our financial counselors are available to answer any questions you may have about reimbursement and payment. Our financial counselors will do everything they can to help you and your family.

Oncology Consultants’ financial counselors are great resources should you experience payment difficulties during the course of your treatment.  They can assist you in managing your account and resolving problems.  Patient assistance takes into account an individual’s financial, medical and insurance situation.  The financial criteria are based on the federal poverty guidelines and are used in determining eligibility.

The patient assistance programs utilized by our financial counselors are run by pharmaceutical companies or independent non-profit organizations to provide free medications or co-pay assistance to people who cannot afford to buy their medicine or are experiencing some hardship towards their financial obligations.  In addition, independent, non-profit organizations funded through the private, corporate and community sector provide assistance with co-payments advocating to help patients access treatment by helping with out-of-pocket costs.

Individuals with or without insurance may be eligible. Please be prepared to submit the following list of acceptable forms of income and required documents:
