Oncology Consultants (OC) is pleased to announce that Dr. Mona Lisa Alattar has joined our practice on August 1, 2016.
Dr. Alattar attended Rice University where she received her BA in Psychology and while in medical school her interest in oncology grew so she completed Internal Medicine residency at the University of Texas in Houston. She then completed her fellowship at UT Southwestern in Dallas for Hematology/Oncology with further fellowship sub –specialization in Leukemia at MD Anderson in Houston.
Dr. Alattar is a Houston native found that OC was the perfect choice to be a part of the advanced treatment opportunities, cutting edge clinical trials, and compassionate care that can be located right in patient’s neighborhoods.
She has won various awards in cancer care such as the 2011 MD Anderson Alumni and Faculty Association Trainee Excellence Award, 2011 ASH Abstract Achievement Award, 2012 ASCO Merit Award, 2014 and 2015 TxSCO Fellows Competition Award. Her publications have been featured in Blood, Lancet and Clinical Oncology News. She is fluent in Spanish and Arabic which is important in serving our patients and their quality of care.
